Ask Imam
| Can we have Nikkah without the father of the bride ? Just me and her |
|
If the father of the bride is unable to be present as her Wali (guardian), for example due to being abroad, unwell or deceased, then another family member such as an uncle or brother may take his place. In the case where the bride does not have any male relatives that can act as her Wali, then a suitable male friend of the family may be appointed as the Wali for the purposes of concluding the marriage contract. As well as the bride’s Wali, you would also need two witnesses for the ceremony. |
